Great Week!!!

May Challenge: Step It Up!
WEEK TWO:

So as you can see, this was a good week. I managed to get my heart rate up and going everyday doing different workouts, and a few days I got in some 2/days...WHOOP! I feel good about it.   This week I plan to do alot of the same, but it is kind of a  stressful week. Last full week of school and teachers cramming in 1-2 test in each subject. UGG!  BUT, School is almost over, thank the good lord, only 7 more days and summer will be here.  Im hoping to get in alot more 2/days bc we won't have to run hm to study and do homework every afternoon. Im so excited!!!! YAY!!!!

This week was a busy/fun week. As Shannon already posted we all did Painting w a Twist, super fun. Love hanging out and relaxing just us girls!! Then of course the Color Me Rad 5k on Saturday was the best time! Idk if it was so much the actual race or just my fun loving awesome friends who made it a great experience...but I can't wait to sign up for the next one. My kids would have LOVED to do this race. So FUN!

So, this pic made me feel good this week. Although the # on the scale is just slowly dropping, at this point. Over all I feel good! I feel like the work is still paying off.  I feel leaner, more toned. I feel like I can see a difference, less cellulite in my thighs, less jiggle.  My legs feel tight and full of muscle. The Leg Days are really paying off! Not to mention in these side by sides, to me-I look less wide. The bottom belly seems flatter, the top belly/muff top (lol) seems smaller and to have dropped. It's pics like these that help to keep me on track! Baby steps, but moving in the right direction, and that works for me!

Georgia...Georgia!!!!!!!!!!

Monday again!!!  I hope all the moms out there had a fabulous Mother's Day!  What did y'all do?  Anything exciting?

I had a great Mother's Day!  Adam and I went to his cousin's house in Mandeville where they had a cookout with a waterslide.  It was so fun, and I'm sore in places I didn't think I could be sore...like my armpits!  It was a workout to say the least! 
 

How My Week Went

 
Monday - 5 min. warmup/20 min. jog/5 min. cooldown, went home and cut and edged my front and back yards!  The weather was too pretty to be stuck inside the gym so after my cardio I made the decision to head home and enjoy the beautiful Spring weather and get the yards done!

Tuesday - 5 min. warmup/20 min. jog/5 min. cooldown, 10 min. on stairclimber.  Online Group Session

Wednesday - 5 min. warmup/20 min. jog/5 min. cooldown, 10 min. on stairclimber, Zumba Class!



Thursday - 2.5 mile walk at work!  Gym:  5 min. warmup/25 min. jog/5 min. cooldown, 10 min. on stairclimber.  I jogged 25 min. straight like a champ!  Booyah!  Painting With A Twist!!!


Friday -  2 miles on the treadmill.  It was a very UNINSPIRED workout.  It was nasty nasty on Friday and the day seemed to drag along.  I was getting ready to leave for work, yawning, and I remembered I had to workout.  It felt like 7 p.m. at only 4!  I got to the gym and quarter-mile into my workout I was ready to go but I stayed to 2 miles and headed home.  It was an off day for sure!

Saturday - Color Me Rad 5k!!


While the Color Me Rad race was fun, I will venture to say that the packet pickup was more fun!  Courtney and I ventured to Kenner to the hotel where the packet pickup was held and hilarity ensued! 

Sunday - Gym was closed BOOOOO!!!  Spent the day doing the waterslide thing.  When we finally got home Sunday evening I cleaned up around the house, bathed both dogs, and vacuumed the entire house.  It was a great day!


What's New?

1.  This Friday I go to Pennington for my last checkup for a few weeks!  I will still be doing shakes but I'll be incorporating regular food into my diet (I pretty much already am). 

2.  I have a skin cancer screening appointment on Thursday.  My sister has had to have skin cancer removed twice now, and it's a scary thing!! So if you can...I urge everyone to get checked!  The local hospital is having a free skin cancer screening and I signed up.  I'm glad I did!  Fingers crossed that they don't find anything!

Alright guys, I need some help with motivation...

I haven't been posting because I've got nothing but excuses lately...Excuses as to why I haven't been exercising, excuses as to why I haven't been eating healthy...I have to stop with all the excuses NOW!!! October 5th will be here before I know it and I want to have lost at least 40 pounds...So any help, tips, advice you guys wanna throw my way is welcomed!!

I got a gift certificate to get my hair highlighted/cut for Mother's Day and I'm doing something different. I'm so excited! I love changing it up! I want to feel better about myself and I'm hoping with the new hair style that will be a step in the right direction. If your confidence is in the gutter then getting motivated to workout is tough!

I'm going to attempt a morning workout starting tomorrow. I'm hoping that by getting up and getting into the routine of working out early it will be easier to try to get motivated! I'm a morning person, it just may work...

I promise to try harder next week and have a lot of progress to post!!

Everything happens for a reason

So I totally forgot to blog yesterday. I had this huge excuse planned and all! Well, everything happens for a reason. This morning, as my house was running late as usual, my husband said (as he was accusing me of eating a row of oreo’s that I DID NOT EAT!), “what happened to your health kick, getting up early and exercising? You’re becoming a lazy bones.” That coming from anyone else would have resulted in a kick to the throat, but not my JJ. He only says stuff with the best of intensions.

With that said, I am re-launching my jogging starting with the color run! I’m amped about getting back on track and back on the track! I am not going to set a routine; I want it to come naturally. I want to want it again.  Before I felt like I was obligating myself to working out, and when I feel like I’m being forced to do something, I lose interest.

So, that being said, I can’t wait to say:

What had happened wuz...

May Challenge: Step It Up!
I told you guys Im NO GOOD w these challenges..lol. I said last blog my "challenge" for the month of May was just going to be to workout everydayYeah well..Week 1=FAIL. Excuse: We were out of town and had alot going on w the family, kids, a baby shower to help out w and well I just didn't make the time to get in a workout. I did however over come those excuses and woke up early on Sunday morning (We were still out of town w the inlaws and fam) and my hubs and I went for a run, at my request, ty very much! ...And I was so glad we did bc if we hadn't gone that morning, it wouldn't have happened Sunday either. 

This doesn't mean Im giving up already, I still plan to make a better attempt to keep up and get in my workouts every day left in this month. 

Here was this weeks break down... WEEK ONE:

Sunday: Run 2mi/18 mins 
                  + 1mi cool dwn walk

This weekend should be a fun one...Saturday, We have a big group of us, including my Fit Blog Friends, all doing the Color Me Rad 5k (3.1 miles). I can't wait to get colored!! Pics to come next week...
And of course, Sunday is Mother's Day :D

Oh, Kelly Clarkson!

Happy Monday Afternoon everyone!  My weekend was a blur and not quite long enough!  But isn't that the case every weekend?  I had a great one but I am TIRED!  And this is shaping up to be a very busy week at work for me! 

So let's get right to it.....

How My Week Went

Monday - 5 min. warmup/10 min. run/4 min. walk/10 min. run/4 min. walk/10 min. run/5 min. cooldown on treadmill, Body Pump Class.  I left class drenched in sweat.  My pants, shirt, bra, socks...everything was drenched in sweat!

Tuesday - 3.1 miles on elliptical in 32 minutes!  Had to hit the grocery and get home to start my online meeting!

Wednesday -  5 min. warmup/10 min. run/4 min. walk/10 min. run/4 min. walk/10 min. run/5 min. cooldown on treadmill.  Legs were TIGHT and the instructor I like wasn't teaching Body Flow so I skipped.  But I went home and did some things around the house and scoped out my sister's new apartment, so I didn't go home and veg out!

Thursday - 5 min. warmup/10 min. run/4 min. walk/10 min. run/4 min. walk/10 min. run/5 min. cooldown on treadmill

Friday - 5 min. warmup/20 min. run/5 min. cooldown, 10 minutes on stairclimber (fat burning program), 400 meter swim in pool (took me 12 minutes and that was being VERY leisure)

Saturday - Busy Busy Saturday and I made no time for the gym =(  The day off was nice though!  Crawfish boil at Steph's Saturday night and had fun, as usual!  Lots of laughs, left late, and can't wait to do it again.  Did I mention the weather was PERFECT?  Did I mention I received a text Sunday night that was a video of me dancing to Bee Gees...wow...had no idea I was being filmed!  Jackie is a ninja with that camera phone...but wait...payback is a bitch!  LOL
Sunday - CrossFit Fiesta Field Day.  We did egg/spoon races, dodgeball, tug of war, wet sponge ring out, and a relay race.  It was a lot of fun and I didn't know this at the time, but the money raised went to one of the CrossFit workers' dad who was diagnosed with cancer.  Total raised was just over $3,000!!!  Had a great time, it was beautiful weather, and the money raised went to an awesome cause!  I didn't have pockets so I didn't bring my camera or my iPhone to take pics, but there was photography going on...as soon as I get some pics, I'll share!

After the Fiesta Field Day we were invited to take a private tour of the Saints practice facility by a guy who does graphic design work for the Saints and is also a CrossFit member.  It was AWESOME.  We saw everything!  The weight room, the indoor practice field, the outdoor practice field, the locker room, etc.  It was very fun and exciting!  I'll load up some pics and post them on my blog next Monday. I would do it today, but it's just too much!  Of the 50+ people that were at the field day event, only 8 of us went along to the practice facility and all we kept saying was how everyone else MISSED OUT!  Once in a lifetime opportunity that I'm so glad we took part in.  Very cool experience! 

What's New

1.  My appointment with Pennington was on Thursday and as of Thursday, I am down 48 pounds.  I have 2 weeks left on the program and I am ecstatic! 

2.  My sister and nephew officially moved out this past weekend and are now in their own 2 bedroom apartment.  I'm excited for them and hope that this is a fresh new start.  I'll definitely miss having my nephew around the house but he knows he can come over any time he wants!  I won't lie, having the house to just my husband and I is very nice and very quiet!

3.  I'm doing a painting on Thursday evening with my blog buddies.  Looking forward to getting out and having some painting fun!

4.  This Saturday is the Color Me Rad race and it's gonna be a fun one!  I need to figure out what I'm going to wear!!!!

One of my favorite "changes"...my legs.   BTW, the black capri pants are not the same in each picture!  My legs are leaner and more toned.  I attribute this to all the jogging.  You can't see my upper legs in the pic above, but those babies are getting more muscle tone and I attribute that to Body Pump's lunges and squats!  Love it!  So glad I tried Body Pump b/c it's nothing but pure love...and hate.  I hate lunges!

Life isn’t about the amount of steps you take; it’s about how far you're willing to go


I do know what has gotten into me lately and I’m hoping to shake this funk soon. I was chatting with my buddy Nicole last night on text and as usual she made me feel good. We were supposed to be going jogging this morning and I was finding excuses before I even went to bed. The one thing that she said that really struck me was, “No sweat literally, wait it out, so long as your not unhappy and not working out, fuck it! Just wanted to help if I could ;)”

I am so fortunate to have friends that love me regardless of my shortcomings and my downright failures.  They are always there for me, rain or shine.

I still have my eye on the prize, but I’m stepping back from the blog for a minute. When I’m feeling back to my old self, I’ll be back. I just simply need some me time. =)
