It's Me Again

Thursday
This was NOT a good day for me.  Not as in food, but as in it was just one of THOSE days.  I don't really want to get into it.  Let's just say, the dentist was involved.  That being said, I don't really have much to report on.  I filled up on some meds, ate a few bites of food, and KNOCKED OUT until 1:00 p.m. on Friday!

Friday
Today was a bit better.  I did sleep WELL into the afternoon though.  that is VERY unlike me.  I attribute it to the meds.  THANK YOU MEDS!!  I obviously took the day off of work.  I am not the type to not show up.  While I stayed under my calorie budget, I am disappointed in myself for trying to fit in all three meals.  It really wasn't necessary since I had slept so late.

Saturday
This was a HUGE test for me.  I had a baby shower to attend.  That's right - party food!  HELP!  I decided before I even got there that I was NOT going to allow myself to "cheat".  Sure, I'm in the presence of party foods, but that is NOT a good enough reason to cheat!  I wasn't starving.  It's not like I can't make these foods myself.  Self control, where are you?  Oh, right here, poking me with that stick.  Thanks!  I sat with an old friend and her mom and chatted it up and played with her baby.  I kept myself occupied with them so that I would not focus on the table with TONS of food behind me.  Before eating anything, I downed a bottle of water.  I find that this helps me to eat less.  Or, it's all in my head.  Either way, it works.  I did not over eat.  I even left 80% of the cake on my plate.  (No, Nicole, it wasn't Creative Cakes.  LOL  Had it been, I would have eaten it all!)  I have previously tackled the "eating out" scenario and am proud that I have now tackled the "party food" scenario.  Yay me!

Sunday
Today was another good day.  Challenge - BBQ.  Challenge accepted.  Kicked ass!  I LOVE BBQ.  But, I love losing weight even more.  I remind myself of this every time I am tempted.  I didn't eat much of the BBQ'd food, but I felt satisfied.  That was a good feeling.  I even tackled bread pudding!  I allowed myself a small portion of it.  As I was eating it, I found myself thinking that it really wasn't all that great.  It definitely wasn't the best I'd had.  So, I stopped.  I didn't even finish the 4 oz. portion.  Now, had it been flan, game on!  lol

Monday
I ended up calling in sick today.  I NEVER call in sick.  I think this is the third time in the last five years that I've called in sick to work.  Obviously, I didn't eat much.  I didn't do anything interesting with my time.  I didn't watch much TV.  I don't really know what I did with my time.  I wasn't sleeping.  No idea.  Apparently, I must have been day dreaming.  Who knows.

Tuesday
I was back in the saddle today.  No more time to be sick!  I had a math test today, so, come hell or high water, I had to go to work and school.  I think I did well on my test.  Since I missed yesterday and had class today, I didn't take a lunch so that I could try to catch up.  Yeah, didn't work out so well.  I had a Special K protein shake to hold me over.  I LOVE those!  they taste great and really do keep me full until the next meal.  I usually drink those on Monday's and Wednesday's when I have class until 8:30 since I won't get a dinner.  When I get home, I'll eat a yogurt and feel just fine.  Then, on Tuesday's and Thursday's, I have them as a quick lunch since I was out of the office for a few hours already.  Strawberry and Chocolate are my favorites.  Weird because I am NOT a chocolate fan.

Wednesday
I was SO busy today.  I had a paper due, so, naturally, I decided lunch time was the best time to start it.  It only took about an hour.  It wasn't too bad.  I just seem to do my best work under pressure.  I guess we'll find out next week!  Anyway, today was another uneventful day.  I did have a big no-no.  I ate a Whopper Jr. and small fry from Burger King for dinner.  I still stayed under my calorie budget, but I know enough to know that even though I stayed under, IT WAS A HUGE NO-NO!  Trust me, it WON'T happen again.  I felt disgusting the rest of the night.  Tired, stuffed (not in a good way), nauseous, etc.  Lesson learned.  F fast food.

I almost forgot to mention, from Monday the 1st - Monday the 8th, I lost 2.6 pounds!  I really think that using the scale EVERY morning and having to answer to myself EVERY morning really helps me to put things into perspective and do a much better job.  It's a good feeling!

  1. I knew buying a scale and seeing your weight every morning would do the trick! It sucks weighing yourself every day, but it's something I do. It lets me know I'm moving in the right direction. I never liked it before and I don't necessarily like doing it now, but I have to for Pennington so I'm kinda getting used to it.

You did great, kicked ass, took names, and I'm proud of you!

    Keep it up!

If you keep this going, we can do pole dancing classes as a reward in a month!
